Ronaldo breaks international caps record (197) in style with 2 goals in Portugal’s 4-0 win over Liechtenstein

Cristiano Ronaldo, the accomplished 38-year-old forward, broke the record for the most international appearances by a player, surpassing Kuwait’s Bader Al-Mutawa, who had 197 caps. Ronaldo marked the occasion by leading the Portuguese national team to a 4-0 victory over Liechtenstein in their first Euro 2024 qualifying match.

In addition to breaking the record, Ronaldo also scored two goals, a penalty in the 51st minute and a stunning free kick in the 63rd minute, bringing his international goal tally to 120. Despite missing several scoring opportunities, Ronaldo’s performance was vital to Portugal’s triumph.

Throughout his impressive career, Ronaldo has been known for his incredible skills, hard work, and consistent on-field performance. Since joining the Portuguese national team in 2003, Ronaldo has played an important role in the team’s successes, including winning the Euro 2016 championship and the 2019 UEFA Nations League title. As he approaches the end of his career, Ronaldo remains a key player for his national team and demonstrates his commitment to the team.
