Budapest Gears Up for the 2023 World Athletics Championships

The World Athletics Championships 2023 is set to kick off in Budapest on August 19th, marking the 19th edition of this prestigious event. Over the course of eight days, the Hungarian capital will be the focal point for athletics enthusiasts worldwide, with the tournament serving as a forerunner to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

A Gathering of Global Talent

More than 2,000 athletes from 200 nations will converge in Budapest, competing across 49 disciplines. This year’s championship is unique as it takes place just a year after the previous edition, a first in the event’s history.

Event Schedule Insights

The championships promise a jam-packed agenda designed specifically for European fans.  Events will commence as early as 7:00 AM and run until 10:00 PM local time. The opening day, August 19th, will feature a variety of events, including the men’s 20 km walk, the men’s shot put qualification, and the women’s heptathlon 100m hurdles, among others.The next days will feature a mix of qualifying rounds, semifinals, and finals in a variety of sports.
