Time for week 8 of the NFL Power Rankings. The season is flying by as we are nearing the halfway mark of the NFL season. The season is finally starting to shape itself.

These power rankings are based on a variety of factors you will see listed below. There is no exact mathematically formula but there is a process based on the importance of criteria, so I am not just picking teams every week based on emotion.

There is obviously subjective input to power rankings so please try not to get too upset and let’s have some fun.

The following is the NFL Power Rankings criteria by importance

  • Wins & Losses
  • Strength of Schedule
  • How good the team currently is regardless of record
  • Health of team (Yes, they may have a good record but they might have lost their starting quarterback for example.
  • Chance at Superbowl (Top 16 must be in playoff race)
  • Recent franchise history of success

1. New Orleans Saints

Record: 6-1

The Saints have not missed a beat with Teddy Bridgewater taking over for Drew Brees. They are still a Super Bowl contender with him. They currently this amazing record with the 4th toughest schedule in the NFL.

2. San Francisco 49ers

Record: 6-0

The 49ers are still undefeated after beating the Redskins 9-0 in a slippery game.

3. Green Bay Packers

Record: 5-1

This time the Packers didn’t need any help from the refs against Oakland to win as they improved to 6-1.

4. New England Patriots

Record: 7-0

The Patriots STILL have had the weakest schedule I have ever seen in the NFL, but here they sit undefeated and they are the reigning Super Bowl Champs.

5. Minnesota Vikings

Record: 5-2

The Minnesota Vikings have now won 3 games in a row. Next up, the Washington Redskins.

6. Kansas City Chiefs

Record: 5-2

Kansas City got a win over the Broncos but lost Mahomes for a bit due to injury.

The Seahawks got exposed by the Baltimore Ravens.

Record: 3-4

The Titans are back in the win column with a win over the Chargers.

There is about to be a fire sale in Atlanta.

30. Washington Redskins

The Redskins are back to losing now that they are not playing Miami.

31. Miami Dolphins

Record: 0-6

Going into week 8 and the Dolphins are still terrible.

32. Cincinnati Bengals

Record: 0-7

I didn’t think anyone could dethrone Miami, but the Bengals are the worst team in the NFL.
