Time for week 8 of the NFL Power Rankings. The season is flying by as we are nearing the halfway mark of the NFL season. The season is finally starting to shape itself.
These power rankings are based on a variety of factors you will see listed below. There is no exact mathematically formula but there is a process based on the importance of criteria, so I am not just picking teams every week based on emotion.
There is obviously subjective input to power rankings so please try not to get too upset and let’s have some fun.
The following is the NFL Power Rankings criteria by importance
- Wins & Losses
- Strength of Schedule
- How good the team currently is regardless of record
- Health of team (Yes, they may have a good record but they might have lost their starting quarterback for example.
- Chance at Superbowl (Top 16 must be in playoff race)
- Recent franchise history of success
All NFL Power Rankings:
Wk 11 | Wk 12 | Wk 13 | Wk 14 | Wk 15 | Wk 16
1. New Orleans Saints
The Saints have not missed a beat with Teddy Bridgewater taking over for Drew Brees. They are still a Super Bowl contender with him. They currently this amazing record with the 4th toughest schedule in the NFL.
2. San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers are still undefeated after beating the Redskins 9-0 in a slippery game.
3. Green Bay Packers
This time the Packers didn’t need any help from the refs against Oakland to win as they improved to 6-1.
4. New England Patriots
The Patriots STILL have had the weakest schedule I have ever seen in the NFL, but here they sit undefeated and they are the reigning Super Bowl Champs.
5. Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings have now won 3 games in a row. Next up, the Washington Redskins.
6. Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City got a win over the Broncos but lost Mahomes for a bit due to injury.
7. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens got a huge win over the Seahawks.
8. Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks got exposed by the Baltimore Ravens.

The Cowboys are back in the winning side of things after beating down the Eagles.
15. Chicago Bears
Ouch. Mitch Trubisky is who we thought he was.
16. Oakland Raiders
The Raiders got destroyed in Green Bay.
17. Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals might actually be decent.
18. Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles lost again. This time to the Cowboys.
19. Tennessee Titans
The Titans are back in the win column with a win over the Chargers.
20. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jags got one game closer to .500. Hard to tell if they will stay close to .500 or move towards the bottom of the pack.
21. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers are also 2-4 coming off bye week. They have had the toughest schedule in the NFL.
22. Detroit Lions
The Lions lost another game in their brutal division.
23. Denver Broncos
The Broncos just can not figure it out.
24. New York Giants
The Giants are back to struggling again now that the Daniel Jones magic has worn off a little bit.
25. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers are 2-4 coming off bye week.
26. Cleveland Browns
Much like the Mitch Trubisky, Baker Mayfield and the Browns are who I thought they were.
27. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers always find ways to lose close games.
28. New York Jets
Sam Darnold is officially seeing ghosts.
29. Atlanta Falcons
There is about to be a fire sale in Atlanta.
30. Washington Redskins
The Redskins are back to losing now that they are not playing Miami.
31. Miami Dolphins
Going into week 8 and the Dolphins are still terrible.
32. Cincinnati Bengals
I didn’t think anyone could dethrone Miami, but the Bengals are the worst team in the NFL.
