The Memphis Grizzlies have traded veteran point guard Mike Conley to the Utah Jazz. This move was anticipated as the Grizzlies are expected to take Ja Morant during the 2019 NBA Draft tomorrow night.

In return, the Grizzlies will receive Jae Crowder, Kyle Korver, Grayson Allen, and the 23rd pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. This trade will also include a future first-round draft pick per ESPN.

What does trading Mike Conley mean for Memphis?

This trade allows the Memphis Grizzlies to have a clean rebuild and remain somewhat competitive during the process with some veteran players like Kyle Korver and Jae Crowder.

As for the Utah Jazz, this move gives them an immediate upgrade at point guard that will make them more competitive in the tough Western Conference. They have been actively shopping current starting point guard Ricky Rubio. With this trade announced, expect Rubio to get moved soon to a team like the Indiana Pacers.
