NBA Free agency is starting to heat up. Jimmy Butler is declining his player option with the Philadelphia 76ers to test free agency per Yahoo source.

Butler spent the first part of last season with the Minnesota Timberwolves to start the year. There was a lot of drama involved and that is where he acquired the nickname “General Soreness” after sitting out multiple games listed as having general soreness on the injury report.

He was eventually traded to the Philadelphia 76ers during the season which looked to be a solid fit for the two-way player.

The Sixers were eliminated by the Toronto Raptors in the playoffs. This has Butler looking for a team he can contend with as well as get paid a max contract.

The Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers have emerged as early favorites to land the 8 year NBA veteran.
