If this year’s game goes like the last one, we’re in for a treat. The Georgia Bulldogs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish produced a thriller in 2017, and get a chance to repeat in Athens, Georgia. Notre Dame’s trying to prove they can play against elite teams (still), but Georgia also has something to prove. A win here launches them into the playoff race, while it leaves the other one scrambling for answers. If it’s Notre Dame, the playoff is essentially out of the picture.

Why the Notre Dame Fighting Irish win
After the last few seasons, it’s tough to justify a Notre Dame win in a big game. Last year, they laid an egg against Clemson in the College Football Playoff, but is this a different team? At this point, we need to see it before we believe it. The biggest key for the Irish is to rise up to the challenge. They can win if they prove they’re not afraid of the Georgia Bulldogs. Every other key comes back to this point.
Playing smart and pressuring Georgia’s offense come back to showing they’re ready for a challenge. A big challenge. This is the biggest game on Notre Dame’s schedule, and there are a number of tough ones. If they can handle the challenge, the narrative changes. A loss only furthers the general opinion of this team.
Why the Georgia Bulldogs win
Georgia found a way to win two years ago in South Bend, and they won’t need to worry about a hostile environment. Playing in front of their own fans gives them an extra edge, but they must play like the favorite. Starting with Jake Fromm and the offense, Georgia can’t take Notre Dame lightly. With Fromm and D’Andre Swift running the show, the Bulldogs must jump out to an early lead and let the Notre Dame narrative eat up their opponent.
All of the pressure should be on Georgia, but Notre Dame’s performances against big teams has taken off. Both teams are feeling the pressure of being a Top 10 team, but they’re both in control of their destinies. Notre Dame has a lot to prove, but that’s an understatement. They might be over their heads with those expectations. GEORGIA 34 NOTRE DAME 17
